| July 2007 Chairman’s Newsletter Haitian Christian Foundation |
As I sit down to write this newsletter, I have to calm down the excitement so I can somehow relate the wonderful things God is doing right now at His “Center for Biblical Training” (CBT) in Cap-Haitien. Our mission is for the hearts of a nation that worships the devil. With God’s providence, we persevere during the down times and we relish the good times. This is a good time. We praise Him for the following and ask His continued blessings and protection. Ok ... I’m somewhat calm... so here goes. – Tim Mastenbrook, Chairman Mission Update The new class of 12 students is well underway! As you may know, we are also well into a trial to take the CBT’s administrative responsibilities of the Haitians to the next level. Earlier this year, we formed an administrative committee of Fonrose Teogene (Alumni of the Jamaica School of Preaching, and our Assistant Director from the beginning), Bellot Calice (Valedictorian of the class of 2000), and Cherfils Wisnique (graduate of the class of 2000). Jackie Perriot (graduate of the class of 2006) assists them by mentoring evening and weekend studies and activities on campus. Together they are performing the day-to-day administrative duties of the school. David Dirrim remains the Director of the CBT overseeing the committee, and although living in the US for now, was there to kick off the new classes and will be visiting from time to time as will other Board members. He is in constant touch with the committee by email as they look to him for decisions and approvals several times each week. We could not be more pleased with this arrangement thus far! David works closely with Dale Huff, the Board’s Executive Academic Director, to continually achieve the goals of our mission as stated above. I don’t often find myself speechless, but I was as I read Dale’s report from his recent trip to the CBT. I believe you will join me in praising God once you have read it. First though, here are some other news briefs. Missionary/family The Haitian administrative committee is a trial, so we are still open to finding a second missionary or family to work with the Dirrims. Endowment fund The launch of our endowment fund has been a success.
