Sam Aikin

Samuel and his wife, Marline live in Roswell, Georgia.  They have one son,
Drue, who is in middle school.  Samuel's wife (Marline) is a native of Haiti and
is fluent in the Haitian language. Marline recently achieved her 2nd
undergraduate B.A. degree in French from Kennessaw State University (GA),
after having graduated with a B.S. degree from St. Johns University (NY).

Samuel has worked with IBM for over 26 years in technical sales; he is a
Technology Manager.  He has a B.S. degree from Texas A&M in Commerce and
holds a Master in Business Administration degree from the University of
Portland (Oregon).  Samuel is also a Project Management Professional (PMP).

He actively serves as a deacon for East Cobb Church of Christ in Marietta,
Georgia, including teaching. Samuel has completed the seven year Bible Study
Fellowship (BSF) International program. Samuel has also participated in the
Walk to Emmaus event.

Samuel's Haiti Involvement

East Cobb Church of Christ congregation in Marietta, Georgia, supports two
Church congregations in Haiti (Ranquitte and Bas-la Riviere) led by preachers
who graduated from the Center for Biblical Training (CBT).  The Church has
supported the Haitian Christian Foundation for about 10 years.  Samuel was
asked to represent the East Cobb Church of Christ to fill a vacancy on the
Haitian Christian Foundation Board.

Samuel has been to Haiti only once and is looking forward to accompanying
Tim Mastenbrook (the board chairman) to Haiti by February 2008 in support of
the HCF ministry. Samuel has always had a heart for reaching out to the poor
and promoting the work of the church. Samuel was asked why he wanted to
participate in the HCF ministry, and he stated the following three reasons
below:
  1. The great commission as expressed by Jesus Christ in Matthew 28:19 is
the principal reason I want to join the HCF.  Romans 10: 13-15,17
speaks to the requirement for preachers and HCF offers an excellent
way to carry out God's plan. The HCF provides an avenue for me to be
    of service in God's plan.
  2. Marline (my wife of 19 years) is of Haitian descent and I have an
appreciation for the people and the culture. I recognize the needs of
the people in Haiti. God is usually big in the lives of people with very
little material resources. By bringing Christ to this population of people,
I believe the Church as a whole will be blessed and some great Godly
    leaders will surface.
  3. I feel that God can use my education and experience in supporting the
HCF mission and I am making myself available.
