Name:  Val Wiltis

Unmarried

Where are you from?:  Rankit (Ranquitte), but the church I
work with is Gingembre, about 9 km. from Ranquitte.

How has your time at the CBT helped you personally?

Because I've spent three years at the CBT, I've discovered
many beautiful things which help me personally in my life.
I've gained wonderful training which has helped me so that
I can walk correctly as a servant and child of God.  I've
gained more moderation in all things.  The time I've spent in
school has changed me completely, like the apostle Paul
because there were things I used to do in ignorance.  This
time has also helped me as I lived together with the other
students.  That is to say I ought to always keep a spirit of
sharing.

Has the CBT helped you in your ministry?

The school will help me as I go out and begin to put into
practice in the church all that I have learned.  I have
received much good training, and I am going to put it into
practice so my ministry can grow.   Finally, with the help of
God and with the training I have received in school, I think I
will produce a good ministry for Christ, just as Christ
produced a good ministry for his Father.

What advice would you give to a new student?

I would tell them know that they need to have a lot of
discipline.  The school will not do everything for you.  You
will need a gentle character in all circumstances; you cannot
be arrogant.  If things are good or if they're not good, don't
get discouraged.  The one thing you need to do is put all of
your confidence in the Lord, because He can do all things.

What has been most difficult during your time at the CBT?

When I was outside of school, I used to work to get
money.  But because I've come to school, things have been
different.  This has made me sad for a little while, because
my congregation doesn't have strength to help me.  But
when I read Matthew 6:19-33, I know nothing is more
important than the word of God.  I know it is God who gives
all things.  I have adapted myself to the word of God totally,
because I have seen that life is more important than things
on the earth.

What are your plans after graduation?

I plan to return to preaching in Gingembre.  The Christians
in that area need a trained leader to help them grow
spiritually.  The thing I ask you is to help us in prayer that
God will give me more wisdom and good understanding so
that the work can go well.  I would like to develop my area
physically as well as spiritually.
During their final trimester of classes, we
asked each student some questions about
their experience at the CBT.  This is Val's
response.
